The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the legal relationship between the Thurgau Economics Institute and the participants in the Thurgau Experimental Economics Meeting with regard to all contracts concluded between the parties.

Conclusion of contract

By registering via the website, by e-mail, by mail or by telephone, participants submit a legally binding offer to conclude a contract. The contract is concluded when the organizer accepts this offer by sending a registration confirmation by e-mail. By sending the registration, the user accepts the GTCs authoritatively.

Service and participation fees

The participation fee is per person and event. Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the offer, the service includes participation on the respective event date as well as drinks and catering as announced in the program. The scope of the service results primarily from the service description. The service provider reserves the right to make changes, e.g. to change to a different location, to replace announced speakers with others and to make necessary changes to the event program while maintaining the overall character of the event. The participation fees are to be paid before the event.

Program changes

We reserve the right to make changes. Should an event not take place, the participation fee will be refunded or transferred to the new date. No further claims can be made.

Epidemic, pandemic, emergency law

The organizer adheres to the regulations/measures of the Federal Council and the BAG (Federal Office of Public Health). In case of an officially ordered event ban, the event will be postponed or cancelled. The participant fees will be automatically transferred to the postponed date. In case of cancellation, the amount will be refunded.

Cancellation

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration in writing.

For organizational reasons, we can only give refunds in the event of a cancellation up to 30 days before the event. For cancellations up to 14 days before the event we charge 50% of the costs. After that, we charge the full amount. However, it is always possible to delegate a substitute person. In case of no-show, the full amount is owed.

Payment

The participation fee is payable in advance.

Image rights

By registering for the event, the participant agrees that the organizer may use photos and videos of the event for internal and external promotional purposes.

Data protection

When collecting, processing and using personal data, the organizer as well as the partners commissioned by the organizer for data management comply with the provisions of Swiss data protection legislation.

Applicable law/place of jurisdiction

All obligations arising from this contractual relationship are subject to Swiss law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Kreuzlingen.
